The Storrar Practice, established in 1848, has a long tradition of veterinary care in the Chester area. Our aim is to provide your pets with the best possible care and yourselves with a friendly, helpful service.
We’re proud to be an independent, family run, small animal practice, where your pets are at the heart of everything we do.
The Storrar Practice is here for all your pets’ needs, so no matter what the problem, please do not hesitate to give us a call.
If your pet needs to see a vet, please call our surgery and one of our friendly receptionists will make an appointment for you.
Vaccinations and Health Checks
Vaccinations play an extremely important part in keeping your pets healthy.
Parasites such as fleas, worms, ticks and mites can be extremely irritating and often harmful to your pets.
Microchipping is the best way to permanently identify your pet. It is a legal requirement in the UK for all dogs over the age of 8 weeks.
As well as being key in helping to control the growing population of unwanted pets by preventing pregnancies, pet neutering comes with many health and behavioural benefits.
The Storrar Practice has a dedicated Operating Theatre allowing us to perform surgical procedures if necessary for your pet.
We have a modern digital X-ray machine allowing us to X-ray your pets where necessary in a safe controlled environment to help our vets diagnose certain conditions.
Just like ourselves, our pets require regular dental care and checks. Dental disease is very common and can cause your pet to be in pain and stop them from eating.
We like to give advice on how to prevent behavioural problems, helping you build a strong relationship with your pet from the start.
24 Hour Emergency Service
In case of an emergency, please call The Storrar Practice on 01244 311106. If we are closed, please follow the answerphone instructions on how to get help.
A fun range of pet accessories and toys
We stock a range of pet accessories including collars, leads, harnesses, toys, treats and dental chews.
Animal Health Certificates (for pet travel)
At The Storrar Practice, all of our vets hold Official Veterinarian (OV) status, which is needed to issue Animal Health Certificates and other documentation required for pet travel around the world.
We are able to offer home visits by prior arrangement. However if your pet is unwell and is requiring treatment it is best for them to be seen at the practice.
End of Life Care
